At Riverside Park

 

Today Elise and I met some friends down at Riverside Park in New London for a celebration potluck picnic. It was a beautiful day, the weather was in the 60s, so unseasonably warm for this part of New England in what is now late November, and there was much food and friendliness going on. In the late afternoon we decided to take a walk down by the river, and through the rusted fence at the edge of the abandoned train tracks, I was able to snap these between the chain link, and when I ran them through Instagram I couldn't believe the beauty of a place that, well, sort of looks shabby. 

I guess it's just one of those things. You can't always see the beauty and perfection on the surface of things. Sometimes, you have to look closer.
